Mirage F-1C

Since WeMoTec has come out with a very nice 50 mm Micro Fan, I decided to develop a small plane that will most definitely not be a slow park flyer type of model. Also it had to have some basic criteria, single engine power, high mount wing for belly landings in grass, all moving stab so it'll be controlled only by this surface, no ailerons. I also wanted a "fighter", not some trainer type. So, looking through my books and eliminating planes, the Mirage F-1C seemed to fit the bill. So, plans were made up, friends were contacted for advice and the plug work commenced. So far, the fuse and the wings have been carved and polished and are now ready for moulding.

I have received the new Model Motors brushless motor, a Mini AC1215/12 for this plane, with a KV of 4750 RPM, I'll be using 10 cells, that'll provide enough motivation to make this little plane fly like a bullet, I hope.

One friend advised me, not to use a camouflage paint scheme......

The fuse is 30" long, the wingspan ( scale ) is only 17.75". Depending on how it flies, I might re-do the wings to give me some more wing area and increase the wingspan to 20" even. It will most definitely be bungee assisted into the air.

The kit will consist of the fiberglass fuselage and fiberglass moulded wings, intakes and thrust tube. A few pre-cut plywood formers, clear canopy, balsa stabilizer, and metal formed parts. Price, well, that's to be determined later.
