WB-57

The WB-57 is a variant of the Martin B-57 tactical bomber. The WB-57 is used as the high altitude photo recon & atmospheric research plane. Now used by NASA. Check out Nasa's website for more info on this plane.
This model was first designed to accept the WeMoTec Mini-480 EDF units, however the new supplier of EDF unit's to Models By John is AirPower from Taiwan. They are presently designing a similar sized fan unit, due to be released early in 2006. So as a result of this, the nacelles and thrust tube will be re-designed if needed, to accept these more modern fans. As a bonus, the kit will include the two EDF units.

Even with this delay, the kit is due to be released during the spring of 2006.

The wings are foam core with balsa sheeting having a 90" span and are designed to be plugged into the fuselage. The fuselage, nacelles and thrust tubes are moulded fiberglass and there is a clear canopy. This plane is large enough to accept mini-retracts. The tail surfaces will be built up balsa in construction.
You can eliminate the landing gear and install the bungee launch hook and simply land the plane on it's belly if you do not have a paved runway.
Estimated cost will be in the $300.00 range but this does not include the costs for the fans as Models By John has yet to be advised by AirPower.
